 RACW Schedule

 

RACW Tactical, Shasta College, March 24 - 25

    The start of the year Club-wide tactical will be held at Shasta College, Redding to practice safety, drill and generally prepare for the new season.

 

Cave Valley Road, Cool, April  13 - 15

    This new event is located on wonderful rolling hills with easy access to the camps and battlefield.  Cool is located near Auburn along Hwy 49 near Hwy 80 west of Sacramento.  There is enthusiastic local support for this event and for Friday's school day which may have as many as 1,000 students.

 

Round-Up Parade, Red Bluff, April  21

    This is the kick off to the local Red Bluff Round Up rodeo and is a major venue to advertise the Dog Island event.

 

Civil War Days, Dog Island Park, Red Bluff, April 27 - April 29

    This event for the RACW is set in a scenic park on the banks of the Sacramento River.   Saturday and Sunday feature battles and living history.  A fantastic location in downtown Red Bluff but hidden from all modern intrusions.  There will be a school day on Friday educating groups of school children about the Civil War.  Dog Island Park is located on Main Street, just south of the I-5 Adobe Road exit. Stewart State Park, 40 Miles from Medford, Oregon, June 9 - 10

    This event is sponsored by the Cascade Civil War Society and is located in the cool mountains on the way to Crater Lake.  The site is a grassy, level, and shady spot on the shores of another beautiful lake.

 

Greyeagle, June 30 - July 1

    This is the second year the RACW has run this event.  With what was learned last year, expect even bigger crowds in this picturesque setting beyond Quincy in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

 

Duncan Mills, July 14 - 15

    This is the largest event in northern California with representation from all the major clubs.  Located norht of Santa Rosa only a few miles from the ocean, the cool nights and mild days make for a perfect mid-summer get-a-way.

 

Tuscan Ridge, Paradise, September 28 - 29

    This year's event will be a unique Friday-Saturday only event.  With school kids coming in Friday for a traditional school day and a usual Saturday schedule.  There will be no events on Sunday and members may leave Saturday evening or stay over and leave Sunday morning.
